The committee is responsible for planning the chapter's two day annual conference, including identifying a theme, plenary presenters, workshop presenters, and other festive activities. Click here for details on the Annual Conference.

Chapter President appoints the chair and members of this committee.
The committee is charged with hearing complaints against NASW members for violation(s) of the NASW Code of Ethics. The committee also hears complaints against organizations where members are employed for violation(s) of their personnel policies or for interfering with professionals’ action on behalf of clients. The committee's goals are to encourage an international perspective in social work practice, to foster increased international awareness, and to inform the profession about global initiatives in social work. Click here to be taken to the International Committee page.

The committee designs marketing strategies to encourage membership recruitment, retention and involvement through the creation of new member services and the promotion of chapter activities.

PACE is the chapter's political action committee, which fosters the participation of interested members to elect candidates who support NASW's public policy goals. PACE is a nonpartisan political action committee dedicated to advancing social work goals in campaigns and elections. Click here to visit the PACE page.

The purpose of the SPAN committee is to maximize member contact with elected officials; to advance the chapter's social policy agenda; and to provide learning opportunities around social policy issues important to social workers. The work of the committee includes: developing Chapter Legislative Positions; collaborating with the Social Work Day at the Capitol Planning Committee; writing policy-related articles for Newsbytes; sponsoring Lunchtime Learning Events (continuing education opportunities that combine policy with practice issues); interacting with members and social work students about policy and advocacy; and sending action alerts to members regarding policy issues important to the social work profession. The committee is responsible for planning the chapter's annual lobby day, which includes a full morning of training sessions, march, rally, and lobbying at the state Capitol. Click here for more information about Social Work Day at the Capitol.

The committee develops, plans, and publicizes the chapter's continuing education calendar: approximately five one-day workshops each year, along with half-day seminars, including the January Thaw and Summer Series.
